Jamshedpur, Dec 24: On the eve of Christmas, the students of St John’s High School donated 60 kg of rice and 20 kg of lentils for the inmates at Aashirwad, the home for the elderly.

On behalf of the school, 10 students of class IX along with teacher Rahul Pandey met the inmates and spent time talking to them. The students were moved by the sentiments expressed by the elderly, who are taken good care of by the Home administrators.

The elderly spoke about their times, the ups and downs of life which they faced, and of course the situation which brought them to the Aashirwad.

Students of SJHS had never encountered such an experience and came back with deep concern for the falling values in society. They pledged to take care of the elderly and also expressed a desire to go back again sometime soon to spend time at the old age home.

Students of the school have also donated winter wear and other edible goods items for the underprivileged.
