Ranchi, Dec 28: The Young Changemakers Programme (YCP) 3.0 at IIM Ranchi concluded on a thought-provoking note with its valedictory ceremony on Friday. The event celebrated the programme’s core values of innovation, leadership, and social impact.

The ceremony commenced with the presence of the chief guest, Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Jharkhand. He was joined by Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi, along with faculty members, YCP alumni, and participants, making the occasion memorable.

The event showcased presentations by top-performing teams, who proposed innovative solutions to address challenges faced by the residents of Rasabeda village. The teams impressed the audience with their creativity, empathy, and problem-solving approaches. Key ideas included bridging the urban-rural divide, improving menstrual health and maternal care, and promoting sustainability through initiatives like creating beds from agricultural husks.

Reflections from the IIM Ranchi Director

Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Mangesh Jha, the participants, and YCP alumni for their vital contributions. Reflecting on the programme’s journey, he underscored the unique values of IIM Ranchi, which focus on “responsible education” and “relevant education.”

Kulkarni highlights importance of empowering communities

Nitin Madan Kulkarni, the chief guest, addressed the gathering and shared his reflections from the Impact Initiator phase of the programme. He commended the open-minded, spirited youth for their willingness to question societal norms and lead transformative change.

Highlighting the importance of empowering communities, Kulkarni stressed resource management as a critical tool for solving diverse issues, including Rasabeda’s connectivity challenges. He left the audience with a key message: “Learn. Unlearn. Relearn,” emphasizing the need for adaptability in a rapidly changing technological era.

Team Polaris Declared Winner

Team Polaris was announced as the winner of YCP 3.0, earning accolades for their exemplary solutions. The team members were felicitated as programme laureates.

The ceremony concluded with Kulkarni leaving his handprint on the ‘Social Canvas,’ a legacy symbol of YCP that represents equality, unity, and creativity.

Prof. Gaurav Marathe, chairperson of the Social Entrepreneurship and Development Cell (SEDC) and a driving force behind the programme, delivered the vote of thanks. He commended the participants for their passion and potential, which he believes will ignite real-world change.
