Dhanbad, Jan 24: The Yonex-Sunrise Jharkhand State Master Badminton Championship, which will also serve as the selection trial for the state team, is scheduled to be held in Hazaribag from February 14 to 16 at the Curzon Ground Stadium.
Providing this information, K. Prabhakar Rao, Secretary of the Jharkhand Badminton Association and Joint Secretary of the Badminton Association of India (BAI), announced that the last date for entry in the championship is February 10.
Events and Participation Guidelines
The tournament will feature singles and doubles events for men and women across nine categories: above 35 years, above 40, above 45, above 50, above 55, above 60, above 65, above 70, and above 75 years. Each participant can compete in a maximum of three events.

K Prabhakar Rao stated, “Based on performance in this championship, Jharkhand’s men’s and women’s teams will be selected for the All India Master Badminton Championship.”
He also emphasized that only players with an active BAI ID will be eligible to participate. Players with inactive IDs will not be permitted to enter the competition.
Larger number of Jharkhand Players to participate
Jharkhand has consistently excelled in the Master National Championship, with players winning trophies across various age categories. As a result, a significant number of men and women players from the state are expected to participate in the upcoming championship.
Y. Jaggi, Secretary of the Hazaribagh District Badminton Association, confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the successful conduct of the championship.
