Daltonganj, Feb 8: Palamu administration is all out to stifle or abort any chance or attempt to impersonate the examinees of the coming matriculation and plus 2 examinations of the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). Exams are to start on / from February 11.
Impersonation is not a new thing here in Palamu where elders or seniors sit and take exams of their wards. Impersonation is more with the girls.
Unusual Demands and Crowded Exam Centres Raise Concerns
Girl examinees especially of Plus 2 who get married and run pregnant make more bizarre demands for seats at the exam centres. They prefer to write lying on some floor with carpet or rug beneath it.
Matriculation exams here present a Mela scene where relatives, parents, young boys and girls outside the exam centres remain present in double the numbers of the examinees at that particular exam centre.
Crackdown on Nearby Xerox Shops to Curb Cheating
Close to the issue of the impersonation is the ‘operation’ of the Xerox copying shops too close to the exam centres all through the time of the exams.
Sources said the administration is contemplating containing such Xerox copying shops located within the ambit of the exam centres where will be an effective prohibitory order under section 189 (old section 144) of the BNS to avoid any mass photocopying of the unfair means.

Sources said it’s not to impede the business of the Xerox copying shops but at the same time, it’s not to hasten any such activity that impacted the sanctity of the exams.
City Commissioner Md Jawed Husaain told the Jharkhand Story correspondent that the issue of impersonation and Xerox copying shops falling in the ambit of the prohibitory order near or close to the exam centres will be on the radar of the administration.
He appealed to the parents, guardians and sensible citizens to extend all cooperation for the conduct of fair and peaceful exams.
116 Exam Centres
For both exams 116 centres have been set up out of which 76 centres are for the matriculation and 40 for the intermediate classes also known as plus 2 exams.
43, 792 students are to take matriculation exams while in the intermediate (plus 2) it is 16,400 for Arts, 23, 792 for science and 713 for commerce.
Strict Action Against Misinformation
Sources said there lurks a danger of pouring in of complaints about invigilators ‘helping examinees or groups of examinees at the exam centres.’
Most of such complaints on verification turn out to be prejudicial to invigilators for a variety of reasons.
Sources said the administration has issued a warning against any circulation of fake, biased or prejudiced and uncorroborated and unsubstantiated content or message or photos for any leakage of the question paper as it erodes the spirit and sanctity of the exams.
City Commissioner Md Jawed Husaain said there are stringent provisions for dealing with such malicious, baseless, unfounded content that casts adverse effects on the exams and so keep off from such misadventures.
