Ramgarh, Feb 11: On the occasion of Safe Internet Day, a one-day workshop on cybercrime prevention and safe Internet usage was organized here at New Town Hall.

The event, led by Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar and Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar, aimed to educate students and the public on online safety measures and fraud prevention.

During the workshop, officials provided insights into various cybercrimes and how to stay protected. They highlighted common online fraud tactics, including fake app scams, lottery scams, fraudulent courier services, and scams related to online shopping and gaming. They also warned against cybercriminals impersonating major companies and deceiving people through social media.

Authorities stressed the importance of immediate action in case of cyber fraud. “The first two to three hours after a cybercrime incident are crucial. Quick reporting can help prevent financial losses,” they advised, urging victims to call the cybercrime helpline 1930 to report any fraudulent activity.

As part of the awareness program, students from Guru Nanak Public School, Ramgarh, performed a skit illustrating the dangers of cybercrime, social media misuse, and online fraud. Their performance helped spread awareness among fellow students and attendees.

The workshop was attended by senior district officials, teachers and students from Guru Nanak Public School and DAV Public School, along with members of the general public.

Authorities encouraged students and citizens to remain vigilant and practice safe internet habits to protect themselves from cyber threats.
