Jamshedpur, March 22: Widespread thunderstorms and rainfall activity during the past 24 hours brought down the maximum temperature across Jharkhand.

According to Met statistics, Kurdeg in Simdega recorded the highest rainfall of 69.6 mm during the past 24 hours followed by Khilari in Ranchi which recorded 46.6 mm.

Ranchi recorded rainfall of 41 mm while Jamshedpur recorded 39.2 mm of rain during the past 24 hours.

Bokaro recorded 20.8 mm of rain while Chaibasa recorded 26.7 mm and Daltonganj recorded 4.6 mm of rain.

Khunti recorded 45 millimetres of rain while Latehar experienced 36.5 mm of rain.

Reports of rain poured in from several other places across the state during the past 24 hours.

Today, thunderstorms and lightning with gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places over Southern, Central and North-eastern parts of the state.

Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are also likely to occur at isolated places over North-western parts of the state today.

On Sunday, March 23, thunderstorms and lightning, and gusty wind (max wind speed: (30-40 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places over the South-eastern and Northeastern parts of the state.

Thunderstorm and lightning may also occur at isolated places over Southwestern, Central and North-central parts of the state on Sunday.

Statistics revealed that the maximum temperature dropped to 24 degrees Celsius in Ranchi while in Jamshedpur the day temperature dropped to 27 degrees Celsius.

Elsewhere in the state, the maximum temperature also witnessed a downward trend.
