Dhanbad, Dec 6: Dr E Balagurusamy, a renowned scholar and educational advisor to Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan tipped the techies of BIT Sindri on the meaning of success in real life and underlined the factors for achieving that.
Dr Balagurusamy, who was addressing the engineering students in a seminar organized by BIT Sindri on ‘ A Key to Success’ at the Conference Hall pointed out six ‘Ps’ – Purpose, Positivity, Perseverance, Performance, Perfection and Punctuality as pivotal elements for success. How to control emotion also counts as success in life, he added.
Success and happiness
“The meaning of success is not getting a coveted job, car, house and other materialistic elements. Rather in real life, it counts how much happiness you brought in your family, society and contribution in nation building,” said Dr Balagurusamy.
Dr Balagurusamy, a former Unna University, Chennai Vice-Chancellor, advised the engineering boys and girls students in a jam-packed hall to set the vision, mission and goal for achieving success in life.

Dr DK Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) Ranchi, on the occasion, while addressing the engineering students, said that the meaning of success is how many lives you have enlightened and how many people you made happy, not the money and other lavish things you earned.

“If there is competition, you have no competition with others albeit you are competing with your performance only. Simply achieving 90% marks does make you great. So, if you want to be part of nation-building and want to return the society there is no competition and stress. The purpose of success is to enlighten the life of others and make people happy,” said Dr Singh.
Dr Sanjeev Rai, OSD to the governor, advised the engineering students to bank on social value which leads to success in life. “Accidental behaviour leads people towards the wrong track,” he said.
BIT Director Dr Pankaj Rai, Career Development Centre CDC) Chairman Dr Ghanshyam, final year students Aniket Tiwary and Rashmita Soren also addressed.
Dr Ghanshyam advised the students to set goals in life to make people happy which will count the success of your life.
