Jamshedpur, April 12: A spell of unstable weather is set to hit Jharkhand, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across various parts of the state from April 12 to 15.

On April 12, the North-eastern and South-eastern parts of the state may experience gusty winds reaching 50–60 Kmph, while the Western and adjoining Central regions are likely to see winds of 30–40 Kmph, gusting up to 50 Kmph, along with thunderstorms and lightning.

The weather is expected to remain turbulent through April 13 to 15, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 Kmph, gusting up to 50 Kmph) anticipated at isolated places across the state each day.

Meteorologists attribute the unstable conditions to multiple systems.

A trough runs from northeast Madhya Pradesh to Bangladesh across Jharkhand, extending up to 1.5 km above sea level.

A persistent upper air cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and nearby areas at 3.1 Km exists.

Another trough extends from this cyclonic system to the Westcentral Bay of Bengal, also at 3.1 Km.

Citizens are advised to stay alert, avoid open areas during lightning activity, and take necessary precautions as strong winds may damage weak structures and uproot trees.
