Jamshedpur, April 15: Jharkhand is expected to continue experiencing unstable weather over the coming days, with thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and gusty winds forecasted to affect various regions of the state.

The Ranchi Meteorological Centre has warned that on April 15, isolated areas in the south-eastern, adjoining central, and north-eastern parts of the state may experience hailstorms accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50–60 Kmph.

In addition, the western and north-eastern parts are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds blowing at 40–50 kmph.

Such unstable conditions are expected to continue. On April 16 and 17, thunderstorms and lightning with winds reaching up to 50 Kmph are predicted across most of the state, except for the western region on April 17.

By April 18, the entire state is likely to come under the grip of these stormy weather conditions.

The volatile weather is being caused by a Western Disturbance, positioned as a trough at mid to upper tropospheric levels, stretching at 5.8 Km above sea level along longitude 83°E north of latitude 20°N.

Additionally, a trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over northeast Madhya Pradesh to south coastal Odisha—passing through Chhattisgarh at 1.5 Km above sea level—is contributing to the instability.

Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, particularly during periods of thunderstorm activity, and to stay informed through official weather updates.
