Ranchi, April 20: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee’s General Secretary, Alok Kumar Dubey, has strongly criticised BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for his remarks concerning Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna. Dubey described the comments as a calculated assault on the judiciary and the Constitution, warning that such statements could erode public trust in democratic institutions and incite societal unrest.

“This isn’t merely an individual’s opinion but a deliberate attempt to undermine our judiciary and constitutional framework,” Alok Dubey stated. He emphasised that targeting the Supreme Court, the apex constitutional body, signifies a deeper conspiracy against India’s democracy.

Dubey further highlighted that repeated provocative statements by BJP leaders aim to destabilise society. He recalled Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi’s warnings about the BJP’s continuous efforts to weaken constitutional institutions.

Expressing concern over the potential impact of such remarks on public sentiment, Dubey cautioned that diminishing faith in institutions like the Supreme Court and the Constitution poses a threat to the nation’s unity and integrity. He remarked, “If the country follows the path these BJP leaders advocate, peace and brotherhood will vanish.

He asserted that the Indian Constitution grants complete independence to the judiciary, enabling it to nullify unconstitutional laws and safeguard the Constitution. “No government or party has the authority to suppress or influence Supreme Court decisions,” he added.

Addressing BJP President J.P. Nadda’s statement distancing the party from such remarks, Dubey challenged its sincerity. “If the BJP genuinely disassociates itself, it should demonstrate its intent by demanding Nishikant Dubey’s immediate resignation,” he urged.

Concluding his remarks, Dubey accused BJP leaders of persistently attempting to incite unrest, weaken constitutional bodies, and mislead the public. “If the BJP cannot restrain its leaders from making such statements, it must be held accountable. This is a direct assault on our democracy, judiciary, and Constitution,” he declared.
