Daltonganj, Dec 9: It was a complete crime: Illicit weapons, illicit ammunition and fake gold! Nothing more is required to earn fast bucks in Palamu.

The Sadar Police in Palamu district busted it. It nabbed three who are habitual offenders and have cases against them.

The police have identified the three as Pintu, Raja and Guddu—all in the age group of 20 to 25. The trio were remanded in judicial custody today.

The police recovered 3 desi kattas and an equal round of live ammunition. It  also recovered the cutter and pipe used in making illicit weapons.

Police seized 2 fake gold weighing 500 grams each. The distant buyers were shown fake gold on video by them. It was enough to tempt instantly.

The three are men of criminal disposition. They are passing a piece of bronze as a gold biscuit! Police have seized their bike too.

And there is no dearth of greedy people who just fail to resist the temptation of gold little knowing that they are in for a loss of a few thousand rupees by buying any ordinary metal for gold.

The trio had deceived some with their fake gold but the cheated ones for fear of social stigma or social sting kept their getting cheated close to their hearts. Police have no complaint in writing about fake gold.

The police had a tip-off of their nefarious mission in the outskirts of the town of Chiyanki and accordingly, Sadar police were in their hot pursuit.

The trio too had a hunch so they too slipped from Chiyanki but couldn’t get beyond Jorkat where they were caught.

Sources said a few persons in Chhaterpur are said to be a victim of such fraud by these three.
