Jamshedpur, May 29: Weather conditions across the state are expected to remain unstable over the next three days, with thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall forecasted due to a well-marked low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal.

According to the latest update from the Meteorological Department:

May 29: Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph are likely at isolated places across the state. Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of the North-Eastern and South-Eastern parts of the state.

May 30: Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) are likely at isolated locations statewide. Heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in the North-Eastern region.

May 31: Thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds (30–40 kmph) are expected to continue at isolated places throughout the state.

The Meteorological Department also reported that the well-marked low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast remains stationary as of 8:30 AM on May 28.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwards with height. This system is likely to move slowly northward and intensify into a depression over the North Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours.

Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over northeast Madhya Pradesh at around 1.5 km above mean sea level, contributing to the ongoing atmospheric instability.

People, especially in the affected regions, are advised to stay updated with local weather alerts and take necessary precautions during this period of volatile weather.
