PM Modi launches Rs 48,520 cr worth development projects in Bihar

Karakat, May 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated multiple major infrastructure and development initiatives worth over Rs 48,520 crore in Bihar’s Karakat region on Friday.

Among the key projects, he laid the foundation stone for the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II (3×800 MW) in Aurangabad district, a massive investment exceeding Rs 29,930 crore aimed at boosting energy security for Bihar and the eastern part of the country.

In addition, Modi dedicated the third railway line between Son Nagar and Mohammad Ganj, valued at more than Rs 1,330 crore, to the nation.

He also officially inaugurated the four-laning of the Patna–Gaya–Dobhi stretch of National Highway 22, a Rs 5,520 crore project, as well as improvements including four-laning of the elevated highway and grade enhancements at Gopalganj Town on NH-27.

The Prime Minister further initiated several important road infrastructure projects to enhance regional connectivity. These include the four-laning of the Patna–Arrah–Sasaram segment of NH-119A, the six-laning of the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata highway (NH-319B), the Ramnagar–Kacchi Dargah stretch (NH-119D), and the construction of a new bridge over the Ganga River between Buxar and Bharauli.

Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, union ministers, and other dignitaries were present at the event, held during Modi’s two-day visit to the state.
