Jamshedpur, June 10: In alignment with the state government’s initiative, East Singhbhum district launched a comprehensive awareness campaign against the use of banned narcotic substances today.

The campaign, scheduled from June 10 to June 26, aims to educate citizens about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and promote a healthier, addiction-free society.

The campaign commenced at the District Collectorate, where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Karn Satyarthi administered an anti-drug pledge to all officials and staff. Following this, he ceremoniously flagged off an awareness van, which will traverse various blocks of the district to disseminate informative messages and engage with the public.

Addressing the gathering, Satyarthi stressed the far-reaching consequences of substance abuse, stating, “Addiction not only deteriorates an individual’s physical and mental health but also disrupts families and undermines societal wellbeing. Combating this menace requires a united and persistent effort.”

He further emphasized the district administration’s commitment to the cause and called upon citizens from all communities to actively participate in the campaign. “Let us work together towards creating a drug-free environment by spreading awareness and extending support to those in need,” he added.

The mobile awareness van will serve as a moving educational platform, broadcasting messages and conducting outreach activities across the district.

Through collaborative action and community involvement, the campaign aspires to bring about lasting change and foster a culture of prevention and rehabilitation.
