Dhanbad, June 17: Students and faculty members of BIT Sindri, led by Director Dr. Pankaj Rai, formed a human chain in front of the Administrative Building on Tuesday as part of a drug de-addiction awareness campaign.
A procession was also taken out across the campus to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pankaj Rai urged engineering students to take the initiative in raising awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and to contribute to building a drug-free society.

BIT Sindri officials stated that the drug de-addiction campaign was launched in accordance with directives from the Higher and Technical Education Department of the Jharkhand government.
All higher education institutions in the state are actively participating in this campaign, and BIT Sindri’s human chain and awareness march were organized as part of this statewide initiative.
Prominent participants included BIT Sindri’s Nodal Officer Dr. N. Kisku, General Warden Dr. R.K. Verma, Dr. J.N. Mahto, Dr. B.N. Rai, Prof. P.K. Sharma, Prof. N.P. Choudhary, Dr. R. Murmu, Dr. M.K. Mishra, Prof. M.K. Bhagat, Dr. S.P. Mishra, Dr. Komal Kumari, Dr. Abhijeet Anand, Prof. Iqbal Sheikh, and Rajkumar Sharma, along with a large number of students and staff members.
