Jamshedpur, July 9: The Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued a weather advisory indicating heavy rainfall at isolated locations over the southwestern parts of the state on July 9.

Additionally, thunderstorms and lightning are expected to occur in isolated areas across the state on July 9 and 11.

Jamshedpur and several other places in Kolhan and central Jharkhand witnessed overnight rainfall.

The rainfall is expected to continue today.

According to the latest update, a low-pressure area continues to persist over Gangetic West Bengal and its neighbouring regions.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level and is expected to move slowly west-northwestwards across Jharkhand and north Chhattisgarh over the next two days.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level currently extends from Bhatinda through Rohtak, Kanpur, Daltonganj, and the centre of the low-pressure area, continuing east-southeastward to the northeast Bay of Bengal. This trough also extends up to 0.9 Km above mean sea level.

Residents, particularly in the affected southwestern regions, are advised to stay updated with official bulletins and take necessary precautions against potential weather hazards.
