Daltonganj, July 13: A low-cost dialysis centre was inaugurated on Sunday at the renowned Prakash Chand Jain Sewa Sadan in Daltonganj by Palamu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sameera S. The event saw the presence of General Secretary Suresh Jain, President Ajit Singh Namdhari, Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar Sriwastaw, Chartered Accountant Saras Jain, former Deputy Mayor Mangal Singh, several well-known doctors, and patient caregivers.

Fully Supervised Hemodialysis Services

Civil Surgeon Dr. Sriwastaw stated, “It is a hemodialysis centre, and we will soon set up an arteriovenous fistula unit as well.”
General Secretary Suresh Jain added, “We have an experienced nephrologist Dr. Sunil Burnwal and a skilled technician. Dialysis will be conducted under the nephrologist’s close supervision.”

Affordable Pricing and Patient-Friendly Facilities

The dialysis sessions are priced at just ₹850. The centre, located on the second floor, is equipped with a lift for easy patient access. Currently, it has two beds, each capable of supporting three sessions at regular intervals.

Sewa Sadan’s Journey Towards Multi-Specialty Care

Dr. Sriwastaw highlighted the institution’s growth, saying, “This Sewa Sadan started as a two-room health centre. Now, with the addition of the dialysis unit, it is moving closer to becoming a multi-specialty hospital.”

He also urged the Sewa Sadan management to share health service data such as family planning, institutional deliveries, C-sections, and immunisations with his office. “Reporting your achievements will strengthen the state’s overall healthcare statistics,” he said.

Appeal for CSR Support and Community Health Initiatives

Dr. Sriwastaw reminded the management about TB patients waiting for free food baskets and requested continued support under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He also proposed collaboration for nearly free cataract surgeries, saying, “We can conduct them together at minimal cost.”

DC Endorses Civil Surgeon’s CSR Call

In her keynote address, DC Sameera S echoed the civil surgeon’s message, urging the Sewa Sadan to continue its service under CSR. Remarkably, she quoted Dr. Sriwastaw’s speech directly—a rare gesture by a DC—emphasising the importance of community-led healthcare efforts.

She also toured the Sewa Sadan facility. Notably, regular medical services remained unaffected during the ceremony.
