National training programme on petroleum production kicks off at IIT ISM Dhanbad

Dhanbad, July 16: A six-day national training programme on petroleum production and associated challenges commenced at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, organized by the Department of Petroleum Engineering under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the programme aims to equip faculty members from engineering institutions across the country with the latest knowledge and practical insights in the field of petroleum production. It focuses on bridging the gap between academic instruction and evolving industry practices.

Renowned experts from both academia and the petroleum industry will deliver sessions addressing real-world challenges and recent advancements in petroleum engineering.

An IIT ISM official stated that the programme is being conducted under the leadership of Prof. Archana, the Programme Coordinator, whose vision and commitment played a pivotal role in designing and executing the course. Prof. Tarun Kumar Naiya is serving as the Co-Coordinator of the programme.

The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Mrinalini Pandey, Programme Director of MMTTP, who served as the chief guest. In her address, she highlighted the significance of faculty development in promoting innovation and excellence in technical education.
