As per SA20 regulations, each franchise was allowed to retain or pre-sign up to six players during the retention window, which closed on July 18.
This could include a maximum of three South African players and three overseas stars. In addition, each team has already exercised its option to sign a wildcard—a player who either featured in the previous season or is an overseas recruit.
The auction pool features several marquee South African cricketers, including Test Championship finalists Aiden Markram, Lungi Ngidi, Wiaan Mulder, and Keshav Maharaj. Exciting prospects such as Dewald Brevis and teenage pacer Kwena Maphaka will also be available, alongside T20 stalwarts like Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje, and Tabraiz Shamsi.
