Dhanbad, August 2: Five Assistant Professors from the Department of Electrical Engineering at BIT Sindri have successfully completed a two-week industrial training programme at Maithon Power Limited (MPL), located in Maithon, Dhanbad.

First-of-its-Kind Faculty Training Initiative

This initiative, the first of its kind for faculty members at the institute, was organised under the guidelines of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The objective was to familiarise faculty with industrial practices and emerging technologies in the power sector.

Faculty Members in Focus

The faculty members who participated in the programme were:

  • Dr Rahul Kumar
  • Dr Suman Ranjan
  • Dr Haricharan Verma
  • Prof Sanjay Pal
  • Prof Manimala

Hands-On Industrial Exposure

Over the course of the training, the professors gained practical insights into power generation, plant operations, maintenance protocols, and advanced technological applications in the energy sector.

Enhancing Classroom Teaching with Industry Insights

A senior faculty member highlighted that the training has not only expanded the technical acumen of the professors but has also brought valuable practical perspectives into their teaching. This, they noted, will significantly enhance the learning experience for students by bridging the gap between academic theory and industry practice.
