Jharkhand News: Jamshedpur poised for spectacular 79th Independence Day celebrations

Jamshedpur, Aug 14: The Steel City stands resplendent in the tricolour’s glory as final preparations for the 79th Independence Day reach a crescendo. Streets, landmarks, and public spaces are draped in patriotic hues, ready to welcome a day of unity, pride, and celebration.

From the majestic Tata Steel Works Main Gate to the bustling Tatanagar Railway Station and the iconic Gopal Maidan in Bistupur, the city’s most prominent venues will host grand flag-hoisting ceremonies, vibrant parades, and stirring cultural performances.

At Tata Steel Works Main Gate, the National Flag will be unfurled at 8 a.m. by D. B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President (Corporate Services), with dignitaries and guests expected to be seated by 7:45 a.m.

In a historic first, Tatanagar railway station will witness the unfurling of a monumental 100-feet-high tricolour at 11 a.m., organised by the Tata Nagar Rail Civil Defence.

Led by Vimal Dev Paswan, the ceremony will feature a grand parade march and the felicitation of railway employees and local citizens for exemplary service.

The city’s main public celebration will unfold at Gopal Maidan at 9:05 a.m., where Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi will hoist the tricolour and inspect the parade.

Contingents from the Rapid Action Force (RAF), District Armed Police, JAP-6, Home Guards, NCC, CRPF, Scouts and Guides, and students from numerous schools will march in precise synchrony, showcasing discipline and patriotic fervour.

Adding to the grandeur, a cultural evening will light up Sidhgora Town Hall tonight, August 14, where school and college students will enthral audiences with patriotic songs and dances.

With robust security, meticulous sanitation measures, vibrant decorations, and emergency services on standby, Jamshedpur is poised to celebrate Independence Day with unmatched splendour, under the proud embrace of the soaring tricolour.
