State Assembly pays tribute to Ramdas Soren as Jharkhand observes one-day mourning

Ranchi, August 16: Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren passed away in Delhi on Friday night. His mortal remains were brought to Ranchi this morning from Delhi. From the airport, his body was taken to the State Assembly, where tributes were paid.

One Day State Mourning

The Jharkhand government has declared a one-day state mourning following the demise of Ramdas Soren. As a mark of respect, state mourning will be observed across Jharkhand today, Saturday. The Secretariat and Vigilance Department issued an order in this regard on Saturday morning.

During this period, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on all buildings where it is regularly hoisted, and no official functions or ceremonies will be organized.

Condolences from Leaders

Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahato said, “Ramdas Soren is no longer among us. His untimely demise has left us all shocked. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed soul and extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. May God give strength to his loved ones in this difficult time.”

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi expressed grief, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the news of Education Minister Ramdas Soren’s demise. His passing is an irreparable loss to the politics and society of the state. I pray to God for the peace of his soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense sorrow.”

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also mourned the loss, saying, “His demise is an irreparable loss for the state. I extend my deepest condolences to the grieving family and pray to God to give them the strength to endure this pain.”

Leaders and Officials Pay Tribute

Those who paid their respects included Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, former Minister Mithilesh Thakur, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Congress state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, former Minister Badal Patralekh, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, Lok Sabha MP Joba Manjhi, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, along with several other officials.
