Thunderstorms, heavy rain forecast for Jharkhand over next three days

Jamshedpur, Aug 16: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall in several parts of Jharkhand over the next three days.

August 17: Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds with speeds reaching 30–40 Kmph are likely to occur at isolated places across the state.

August 18: Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations, particularly over the southern parts of Jharkhand.

August 19: Thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds (30–40 Kmph) are again likely to lash isolated areas of the state.

The weather department has advised people to exercise caution during thunderstorms and heavy rain, and to avoid taking shelter under trees or near open fields during lightning activity.

Meanwhile, statistics revealed that Jharkhand has so far received surplus rainfall of 33 per cent.
