Dhanbad, Aug 21: Passengers traveling between Dhanbad and Coimbatore will soon get a new direct rail link. The Indian Railways has announced the introduction of a special train service between the two cities, scheduled to operate from September 5 to December 1, 2025. The train will run via Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Katpadi railway stations.

A senior official of the Dhanbad Rail Division informed that the new service, numbered 06063/06064, has been introduced in the interest of passengers, providing them with a convenient long-distance travel option.

Timings and Schedule
The Coimbatore–Dhanbad Special (06064) will operate from September 5 to November 28. It will depart from Coimbatore every Friday at 11:50 AM and reach Dhanbad at 8:30 AM on Sunday.

The Dhanbad–Coimbatore Special (06063) will run from September 8 to December 1. It will leave Dhanbad every Monday at 6:30 AM and arrive in Coimbatore at 3:34 AM on Wednesday.
Coach Composition
According to railway officials, the special train will be equipped with 15 sleeper coaches, two 3-tier AC coaches, and one 2-tier AC coach, ensuring adequate accommodation for passengers.

The introduction of this direct connection is expected to ease long-distance travel for passengers from Jharkhand to southern India, particularly those heading to Tamil Nadu.
