THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

New Delhi, August 23: India has prolonged its airspace restrictions on Pakistani aircraft until September 24, continuing a ban that has been in place since late April.

The order applies to all planes owned, leased, or operated by Pakistani airlines and operators, as well as to military flights.

The step comes as part of India’s measures following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 people dead.

New Delhi had first shut its skies to Pakistani flights on April 30, with the restriction initially set to expire on May 24. Since then, the closure has been renewed every month.

According to the latest NOTAM issued on August 22, Pakistani aircraft are prohibited from entering Indian airspace until 23:59 UTC on September 23, corresponding to 5:30 a.m. IST on September 24.

Islamabad has responded with identical measures, issuing its own NOTAM on August 20 that extends the ban on Indian aircraft using Pakistani airspace until the same date.
