Jamshedpur, Sept 4: St. John’s High School, Jugsalai, was filled with colours, creativity, and cheer on Thursday as the school proudly hosted a Fancy Dress Competition for students from Nursery to Class V, along with engaging Mothers–Children Fun and Educational Games.
The event began with a warm welcome by Director Gera Francis, who emphasised the importance of creativity and active parent–child participation in building confidence and strengthening the bond of learning through play.
The Fancy Dress Competition showcased the imagination of the young participants who confidently displayed their costumes and spoke a few lines about their chosen characters. The themes were: Nursery to H.Kg – Healthy Food vs. Junk Food, Std I & II – Nature, Std III & IV – Costumes of Different States of India and Std V – Politicians.

The children’s lively performances left the audience delighted, as they brought their roles to life with enthusiasm.

Adding to the excitement were the Mothers–Children Fun Educational Games, which included quiz rounds, word games, riddles, and quick problem-solving challenges. Mothers, being the first teachers of their children, participated with equal zeal, making the event a joyful blend of learning and togetherness. The laughter, joy, and bonding created during the activities filled the atmosphere with warmth and energy.
Winners of both the Fancy Dress Competition and the Fun Educational Games were honoured with certificates and prizes, recognising their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm.
A vote of thanks was delivered by a Class XI student, marking the close of the program. The day concluded on a happy note, leaving behind smiles, laughter, and the essence of learning through fun — making it a memorable experience for students, parents, and teachers alike.
