Ranchi, Sept 13: The National Lok Adalat in Ranchi on Saturday witnessed the settlement of 40,836 pending cases and 2,08,097 pre-litigation disputes, resulting in recoveries worth ₹296.58 crore.
The third Lok Adalat of 2025 was inaugurated online by Chief Justice of Jharkhand, Tarlok Singh Chauhan, along with Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, Executive Chairman of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA).
At the DLSA Hall of the Civil Court, Judicial Commissioner Anil Kumar Mishra-I and other judicial officers handed over cheques worth ₹27.15 lakh to 12 victims under the Jharkhand Victim Compensation (Amendment) Scheme, 2019. In addition, 82 road accident victims were awarded compensation of ₹8.70 crore.

Veer Pariwar Sahayata Yojana Launch
Marking the occasion, the NALSA Veer Pariwar Sahayata Yojana-2025 was also launched at Kerketta Auditorium in Dipatoli, where Chief Justice Chauhan, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, and Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi inaugurated the Veer Pariwar Kalyan Karyalaya.
The office will provide free legal assistance to ex-servicemen and their families. On this occasion, compensation of ₹2.14 crore was distributed to beneficiaries.

Streamlined Mechanism for Justice Delivery
For the Lok Adalat, 34 judicial benches and 19 executive benches were constituted. Prior coordination meetings were held with judicial officers, bank and insurance representatives, police, and district officials to ensure smooth and effective settlements.
Officials stressed that the Lok Adalat has become a trusted platform for people seeking free, accessible, and timely justice across Jharkhand.
