Jamshedpur, Sept 16: Team Samarthya, the Human Potential Centre of XLRI Jamshedpur, hosted the latest edition of Paakhi—its flagship menstrual hygiene awareness initiative—at Kerala Public School, Kadma.

Conducted in collaboration with Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), the session engaged 120 adolescent girls aged 11 and above through interactive workshops.

Medical students Ruhani, Anjan, and four peers from MTMC led the discussions, while Team Samarthya members Nehal, Samyak, Anshi, and Anushtha ensured seamless execution and meaningful student engagement.

The workshops created a safe space for dialogue, addressing essential aspects of menstrual health, including hygiene practices, nutrition, and emotional well-being.

“Through Paakhi, we want to normalize conversations around menstrual health and empower young girls with the knowledge and confidence to care for their well-being,” said Ruhani from MTMC.

Team Samarthya highlighted that the initiative seeks to trigger a ripple effect, enabling informed girls to spread awareness within their peer groups, families, and communities. “Menstrual health should not be a taboo but a matter of dignity, awareness, and empowerment,” the team emphasized.

Over the years, Paakhi has evolved into a consistent outreach program across Jamshedpur schools, fostering awareness and self-confidence among adolescents while aligning with XLRI’s mission of nurturing socially responsible leaders.
