Dhanbad, Sept 18: The week-long induction program for the newly admitted B.Tech first-year students (2025–29 batch) at B.I.T. Sindri concluded today at the D.L. Deshpande Auditorium.

The program aimed to familiarize students with academic resources, technical innovation, and holistic personal development.

Academic Awareness and Skill Enhancement

Chief speaker Dr. Vishwaranjan Mishra addressed the students, providing insights into various online learning platforms such as NPTEL, MOOCs, and MOODLE.

He encouraged students to leverage these resources for academic enrichment and skill development, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning in today’s competitive environment.

Innovation and Hackathon Introduction

Prof. Akram Khan introduced students to the concept of Hackathons, explaining the process, significance, and future opportunities.

His session motivated students to actively participate in innovation-driven activities and technical competitions, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills among the first-year batch.

Holistic Development and Cultural Awareness

The organizers highlighted that the program was not limited to technical education but also focused on personality development, discipline, value-based learning, and awareness of cultural heritage.

The week-long sessions provided students with an engaging and meaningful introduction to campus life, leaving a lasting impression on their academic journey.

Faculty Participation and Coordination

The event witnessed participation from students and senior faculty members, including Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Rai, Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Verma, Dr. Maya Rajnarayan Rai (Dean, Faculty Affairs), Prof. Praful Sharma, and Dr. Ravishankar Prasad, among others.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Sanjay Pal and Dr. Komal Kumari, with Dr. Rahul Kumar serving as the convenor. Special support was provided by Dr. Prashant Kumar Singh, Dr. Priyanka Kumari, Prof. Prashant Ranjan Malviya, and Prof. Sumanto Mandal.

Moving Forward

With the conclusion of the induction program, BIT Sindri’s first-year students are set to begin their regular B.Tech classes from September 19.

The program has equipped them with academic, technical, and personal insights, enabling them to embark on their educational journey with renewed enthusiasm and determination.
