Jamshedpur, Sept 19: Jharkhand is set to witness light to moderate rain and thundershowers at scattered places over the next few days, according to predictions of the Ranchi centre of India Meteorological Department.

On September 19, rainfall activity will be confined to a few pockets, while between September 20 and 22, light to moderate showers are expected at many places across the state.

The wet spell is likely to continue in several districts on September 23 and 24 as well.

The southwest monsoon withdrawal line continues to pass through Amritsar, Bathinda, Fatehabad, Pilani, Ajmer, Deesa, Bhuj, and 23°N/68°E.

Meanwhile, an upper air cyclonic circulation over east Bihar and adjoining areas, extending up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level, is influencing weather conditions in Jharkhand.

During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded at many places. Ramgarh DVC in Ramgarh district received the highest rainfall at 26.6 mm.

The highest maximum temperature was 34.1°C at Seraikela, while the lowest minimum temperature was 21°C at Latehar.

With the monsoon remaining normal over the state, moderate showers are expected to provide relief from the prevailing heat while also benefiting ongoing agricultural activities.
