Jamshedpur, Sept 29: The state is set to experience a fresh spell of monsoon activity over the coming days, according to the latest weather bulletin.

On September 30, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places.

The intensity and spread of rainfall is expected to increase on October 1, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely at a few places.

By October 2, widespread showers are forecast, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers most likely at many places across the state.

The wet spell will persist into October 3 and 4, with rainfall activity expected at most places.

Meanwhile, the line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon currently passes through 20°N/69°E, Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, Shahjahanpur, and 30°N/81°E.

Meteorological conditions indicate that further withdrawal of the monsoon is not expected over the next seven days.

Adding to the evolving weather scenario, a trough extends from a well-marked low-pressure area over west Vidarbha and adjoining north Madhya Maharashtra to the west-central Bay of Bengal, passing through south Chhattisgarh and north coastal Andhra Pradesh, extending up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level.

In addition, an upper air cyclonic circulation is expected to emerge over the north Andaman Sea on September 30.

Under its influence, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal around October 1, potentially enhancing rainfall activity in subsequent days.
