Dhanbad, Sept 30: Police in Dhanbad arrested Rabiul Islam, a sharpshooter associated with Dubai-based Wasseypur gangster Prince Khan, before he could carry out the planned murder of a local trader.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Naushad Alam informed the media on Tuesday afternoon that Rabiul Islam, a resident of Saraikela-Kharsawan district, was apprehended with a country-made pistol and four live cartridges around 9 p.m. on Monday.

“Acting on the directive of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar, a special police squad was deployed for vehicle checking on Baliapur–Damodarpur road. Rabiul Islam, who was on a bike, was intercepted and arrested during the late evening operation,” DSP Alam said.
Police revealed that Rabiul Islam was also involved in the murder of land dealer Sahabuddin in October 2024. Several criminal cases are registered against him in Chakradharpur and Odisha.
He is known as a close aide and shooter of fugitive Wasseypur gangsters Prince Khan, currently hiding in Dubai, and Gopi Khan.

An FIR has also been filed against Writik Khan of Wasseypur, who allegedly provided Rabiul Islam with a stolen bike in Dhanbad to commit the crime.
