Jamshedpur, Oct 14: The southwest monsoon has officially withdrawn from the entire state of Jharkhand as of October 13, marking the end of this year’s monsoon season.

According to the Meteorological Department, dry weather conditions are expected to prevail across the state over the next few days.

The withdrawal line of the Southwest Monsoon now extends through 14°N/72°E, Karwar, Kalburgi, Nizamabad, Kanker, Keonjhargarh, Sagar, Synoptic Island, Guwahati, and 28.0°N/92.5°E.

Weather forecasts indicate mainly clear skies and dry weather on October 14, followed by partly cloudy but dry conditions from October 15 to 17.

Meteorologists said no significant synoptic system currently affects Jharkhand.

However, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over the central parts of Uttar Pradesh, extending between 1.5 and 3.1 Km above mean sea level.

With the monsoon’s retreat, Jharkhand is likely to experience cooler mornings and evenings in the coming days as the state transitions toward post-monsoon and early winter conditions.
