2nd Ranchi Major Badminton Championship in November

 

Ranchi, Oct 21: The 2nd Ranchi District Major Badminton Championship is set to be held from November 21 at the Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo Indoor Stadium, located in the Mega Sports Complex, Hotwar.

Announcing the programme, N.K. Dey, Secretary of the Badminton Association of Ranchi District (BARD), said the championship will include singles and doubles events for men, women, boys, and girls across various age categories — under-13, under-15, under-17, under-19, and veteran groups under-35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70. In addition, mixed doubles events will be organized for all the mentioned categories.

Dey informed that the last date for submitting entries is November 12, and applications will be accepted only through Google Forms. “No entries will be accepted via telephone, WhatsApp, or any other means,” he stated. The list of participants will be published on November 17.

Matches up to the pre-quarterfinals will be played on a best-of-three format of 15 points, while matches from the quarterfinals onward will follow a best-of-three format of 21 points, Dey added.
