A Symbolic Beginning for Chhattisgarh’s Growth Journey

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Modi described the day as a golden beginning in Chhattisgarh’s development journey. Paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said, “Atal ji gave recognition to the soul of this land by creating the state of Chhattisgarh. Today, as we inaugurate both the Assembly and his statue, it feels like Atal ji’s dream is being fulfilled.”

A Journey from Modest Beginnings to a Modern Landmark

The Prime Minister recalled that the history of the Chhattisgarh Assembly itself is inspirational. “When this beautiful state was formed in 2000, the first Assembly meeting was held at Rajkumar College’s Jashpur Hall in Raipur. That time was one of limited resources but limitless dreams. The only sentiment then was to make our destiny shine brighter and faster,” he said.

The Land of Lord Ram and the Spirit of Good Governance

Calling Chhattisgarh the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram, Modi said that Ram’s ideals inspire good governance and public welfare. “‘Ram se Rashtra’ means ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ — a vision of an India free from poverty and inequality,” he stated.

A Green, Modern, and Culturally Rooted Structure

Built at a cost of ₹324 crore, the new Assembly building covers 5 lakh square feet across 51 acres. It is equipped with modern technology and designed in an eco-friendly manner. The architecture beautifully blends Chhattisgarh’s culture, tradition, and modernity, symbolizing the essence of Dharati Dhurandhar — the land of strength, culture, and progress.
