Lohardaga, Nov 8: Around 75 students from the Department of Civil Engineering, Usha Martin University, participated in an industrial visit to the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Lohardaga, Government of Jharkhand, on Saturday, to have a practical exposure to the Water Treatment Plant.

This industrial visit aimed to provide the students with practical exposure and hands-on learning related to their academic curriculum and showcase the practical knowledge.
The visit was hosted by the officials from the Drinking Water & Sanitation Department, Lohardaga, including Anup Kumar Hansdah (Executive Engineer), Joy Minz (Assistant Engineer), Amit Kumar (Junior Engineer) and Mukti Kiro (Executive Engineer), Sachin Kumar Mahto (Assistant Engineer) of Municipal Council Lohardaga.

The students were welcomed by Kumar Sandeep, Proprietor of the Water Treatment Plant, Lohardaga, who shared valuable insights into the plant’s operation and treatment processes.
Throughout the visit, students interacted with the engineers, gaining knowledge about various stages of water purification, treatment technology, and infrastructure design. The engineers elaborated on the practical aspects of water quality management and system maintenance, bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and field applications.
The team of students was led by the faculty members of the Civil Engineering Department — Aarohi Kumar Munshi (Assistant Professor), Anurag (Assistant Professor), and Rahul Kumar Gupta (Head of Department, Civil Engineering), along with the lab technicians of the department.

The visit was a fruitful and enriching experience, enhancing the students’ understanding of civil engineering practices in real-world contexts. The students expressed their gratitude to the Drinking Water & Sanitation Department, Lohardaga, and the management of the Water Treatment Plant for their guidance and support in making the visit a grand success.
