Daltonganj, November 13: A battery of BJP leaders comprising MP Vishnu Dayal Ram, Daltonganj MLA Alok Kumar Chaurasiya, state general secretary Manoj Singh and district president Amit Tiwary on Thursday held a press conference on the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas in honour and memoriam of Bhagwan Birsa Munda slated for November 15.

The BJP leaders were visibly discomforted when asked about the conspicuous absence of any Jan Jatiya leader in the press conference. There was no tribal leader as such present even in the gallery of the party workers, although very few in numbers.

The district president Amit Tiwary explained that a line had come from the state BJP to hold the press conference with the elected representatives like Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha and state leaders.

There was another difficult poser when asked if on the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas the issue of conversion would be raised, to which the MP Vishnu Dayal Ram said, “The BJP is opposed to conversion under duress, coercion, temptation and threat. We have been raising this issue at all levels and at suitable fora.”

Daltonganj MLA Alok Kumar Chaurasiya highlighted the importance of the Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas, asserting that our prime minister, Narendra Modi, has brought the Adivasis to the centre stage of the nation.
