Political observers noted that the victory margin even exceeded that of his late father, making it a defining moment for JMM in the region.

Rounds 6–9: Lead Crosses 15,000

By Round 7, JMM crossed 32,000 votes.
Round 9 saw a decisive jump:

JMM 46,150 | BJP 30,458
A margin of 15,692 votes at this stage clearly showed the direction of the contest.

Rounds 10–12: One-Way Election

Round 10: JMM 53,096 | BJP 32,289

Round 11: JMM 59,150 | BJP 37,055

Round 12: JMM 64,637 | BJP 41,252

NOTA logged 1,579 votes in Round 11 alone. JLKM crossed 9,300 votes, but remained far behind.

JMM maintained the lead through all remaining rounds.

Voters Back Tribal Leadership, Reject Opposition Push

The result reflects strong tribal support for JMM and continuity in leadership.
Somesh Soren’s groundwork in the constituency, combined with the party’s organisational strength, helped consolidate votes.

Despite a spirited campaign, BJP’s Babulal Soren, son of Champai Soren, struggled to close the gap.
The presence of multiple smaller candidates did not split the vote enough to challenge JMM.

Ghatshila’s voters have delivered a clear and emphatic mandate in favour of the ruling party.
