SUBHASH MISHRA

Dhanbad, Nov 27: Dr Amulya Suman Beck on Thursday became the new Head of the Mass Communication Department at Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU). He took charge from Dr Jitendra Aryan.

Dr Beck, who is also the elected general secretary of the Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University Teachers Association (BBMKUTA), belongs to the 2008 batch of lecturers and will serve as Head of Department for two years.

Focus on ethics, practical training and job-oriented education

After assuming office, the soft-spoken Dr Beck said that Mass Communication has become highly important in modern life. He emphasised that he would focus on instilling a sense of morality among students, helping them understand media with the right perspective.

“I will work for quality education, practical training and job-oriented learning so that students of the Mass Communication Department can progress confidently,” he said.
The new HoD added that he would also prioritise workshops, industry-interface programmes, and research activities.

Faculty extend congratulations

Senior teachers of the university congratulated him and expressed hope that, under his leadership, students of the Mass Communication Department would be able to achieve their academic goals.
