Jamshedpur, Nov 28: The Dramatics Club of D.B.M.S. English School, Jamshedpur, hosted its annual theatre event, Theatrics 2025, featuring an English play titled “The Day the Internet Died” and a Hindi production titled “Gen Z.” Students from Classes VII to XI participated, presenting performances that captivated the audience.

The English play was judged by Nandini Mehta and Uma Vaidya. It depicted the growing influence of the internet on the younger generation and highlighted how excessive dependence affects daily life. The play reminded viewers that while the internet has become a necessity, it should be used wisely and in moderation.

The Hindi play, evaluated by Dharma Patnaik and Dhiraj Ranjan, offered an insightful portrayal of the lives of Gen Z. Presented in three acts, it showcased the complexities, dreams, and pressures faced by today’s youth.

The first act portrayed how glamour and peer influence can lead to decisions with serious consequences. The second act brought the audience into a world dominated by reels and filtered realities, showing how characters Rohan and Aaliya confront the “reel devil.” The third act depicted the emotional struggle of balancing personal dreams with family expectations and societal pressure.

Students were honoured for their performances. In the Best Costume category, Shreyasi Paramanik of VIII B (English) and Angelina Agarwal De of XI A (Hindi) were awarded. The Best Performer (Runner-Up) titles went to Shreyasi Paramanik of VIII B (English) and Aniket Bagchi of IX D (Hindi). The Best Performer awards were won by Saachi Gulati of VIII D (English) and Aarav Bharadwaj of IX D (Hindi).
