Dhanbad, Dec 22: Deoghar district administration will hold a bird’s view open painting and photography competition at Naukhil Talab Koyridih on December 24.

Deoghar Public Relations Officer Rohit Vidyarthi, giving this information today, said that besides Deoghar, interested boys and girls from other districts could also participate in this competition. There is no age bar in the competition.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vishal Sagar will inaugurate the competition at 10.30 am, while the closing ceremony to give prizes and souvenirs to the top three participants will be held in the afternoon. The deputy development commissioner (DDC) will be the guest of honour.

The official said the district administration is organizing the competition to showcase the picturesque tourist spots of Deoghar to visitors of Babadham. “Deoghar has many picturesque spots, especially Naukhil Talab in Koyridih, which becomes the centre of attraction in winter from November to February when migratory birds arrive here in large numbers. Other spots are also more attractive and could be centre points for visitors,” said Rohit Vidyarthi.

A few months ago, the district administration organized a marathon in Biodiversity Park near Digaria Pahad Jasidih to showcase the spot to people. “In lack of information, generally, people of other states and countries return after worshipping Baba Baidyanath. But now they would prefer to take a view of picturesque views of Deoghar,” said the PRO.
