Supreme Court dismisses plea on JSSC-CGL Exam

Ranchi/Delhi, January 5: In a major relief to the Jharkhand government and successful candidates, the Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition challenging the Jharkhand High Court’s order related to the JSSC-CGL examination.

A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta upheld the High Court’s decision, terming it correct, and rejected the appeal filed by the petitioners.

Big Relief for Candidates and State Government

With the dismissal of the petition, the Supreme Court’s verdict clears the way for the appointment of successful JSSC-CGL candidates, bringing an end to the legal uncertainty surrounding the recruitment process.

Background of the Case

Earlier, on December 3, a bench headed by the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court had stayed the results of 10 candidates while allowing the appointment of the remaining candidates.

During the High Court proceedings, advocate Amritansh Vats appeared on behalf of the successful candidates. Following the High Court’s order, some students approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision.

Merit List and Appointments Already Issued

Meanwhile, the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) had released the merit list of successful candidates, and the state government had already issued appointment letters.

The Supreme Court’s ruling now firmly validates these actions.
