Jamshedpur, February 23: In a breakthrough in the February 13 murder of Jamshedpur gangster Vikram Sharma at Silver City Mall in Dehradun, Uttarakhand Police have arrested Rajkumar Singh, a resident of Bagbera in Jamshedpur.
The arrest marks a key development in the high-profile Dehradun mall shooting case that has drawn attention across Jharkhand and Uttarakhand.
Rajkumar Singh has been taken to Dehradun on transit remand for further interrogation in connection with the Vikram Sharma murder case.
UPI Payment Link in Dehradun Murder Probe
Investigators allege that Rajkumar Singh facilitated payment through his UPI ID for a motorcycle booked in Haridwar. The motorcycle is suspected to have been used either during the execution of the crime at Silver City Mall or for the escape of the shooters.
The probe has also brought his son, Yashraj Singh — reportedly a railway contractor — under the scanner. Police suspect that Yashraj may have transferred funds to the accused shooters and arranged vehicles and logistical support to help them flee after the Dehradun mall killing.
Gang War Angle Under Investigation
As part of the broader Vikram Sharma murder investigation, Dehradun Police have questioned gangster Akhilesh Singh, currently lodged in Dumka Jail in Jharkhand.
Akhilesh Singh is said to have been a mentor to Vikram Sharma, prompting investigators to examine a possible gang rivalry or internal fallout as a motive behind the Jamshedpur gangster’s murder.
Search for Other Suspects Intensified
Police teams are also searching for three other Bagbera residents — Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Akash Prasad and Vishal Singh — whose roles are considered suspicious in the Dehradun murder conspiracy.
Joint teams of Dehradun and Jamshedpur police are conducting coordinated raids at multiple suspected hideouts.
Officials said the investigation into the Vikram Sharma killing is being driven by electronic transaction trails, call detail records (CDR analysis) and CCTV footage from the Silver City Mall area.
Multiple rounds of interrogation are underway to uncover the funding network, planning and operational links behind the high-profile gangster murder.
