THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, March 2: The Tata Group has announced major new investment plans in Jharkhand, focusing on new technology, knowledge-based industries, CSR expansion, and youth skill development. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Chief Minister’s residential office in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran.

Focus on New Technology and Industrial Growth

Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran said the group is planning fresh investments in Jharkhand, mainly centered on advanced and modern technologies. Several Tata Group companies, including Tata Steel and Tata Motors, are already operating in the state and are now moving towards more technology-driven production systems.

Under the proposed plan, significant investments will be made to upgrade industrial units with modern technology. At Tata Steel, the adoption of new technologies is expected to increase production speed, reduce pollution, and support the development of an advanced hydrogen-based vehicle manufacturing plant. These initiatives aim to strengthen Jharkhand’s position as a leading industrial hub in India.

Push for Knowledge-Based Industries

In line with the state government’s vision, the Tata Group will take steps to establish knowledge-based industries in Jharkhand. A joint team of state government officials and Tata representatives will be formed to prepare a detailed roadmap.

Chandrasekaran assured that the Tata Group will provide full support at every level to contribute to Jharkhand’s long-term industrial and economic development.

Expansion of CSR and Youth Skill Development

The Tata Group will expand its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in Jharkhand. The scope of CSR initiatives will be widened, and the allocated funds will be increased to ensure maximum benefits for local communities.

A special focus will be placed on youth skill development. The Tata Group will work in partnership with the state government to train and upskill young people, preparing them to meet current industry demands and improving employment opportunities in the state.

Investment-Friendly Environment in Jharkhand

Praising Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s leadership and vision, N. Chandrasekaran said that an investment-friendly environment is being developed in Jharkhand. He noted that the state government’s industrial development roadmap is attracting major investors.

Various investment-related matters were discussed during the meeting, and positive outcomes are expected in the near future.

Strong and Historic Partnership

Chief Minister Hemant Soren highlighted the Tata Group’s long-standing relationship with Jharkhand, stating that the group began its journey in the state and has since built a strong global identity. He said the Tata Group has made significant contributions to the development of Jharkhand and the country through its institutions and industries.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Tata Group’s journey in Jharkhand will continue with full strength, bringing further industrial growth, technological advancement, and job creation.
