Ranchi, March 30: Suspended IAS officer Vinay Chaubey has been granted default bail by an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in a disproportionate assets case. He got relief as the chargesheet was not filed within the stipulated time. The court accepted his plea seeking default bail.

Family members also named as accused in ACB case

The ACB had registered an FIR under Vigilance Case No. 20/2025 in connection with the matter. Apart from Vinay Chaubey, his wife, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and associate Vinay Singh, along with his wife Snigdha Singh, have also been named as accused.

Chaubey is accused of misusing his official position to acquire illegal assets.

The ACB had taken him into judicial custody on January 28. The investigating agency was required to file the chargesheet by March 29, but failed to do so. As a result, the court granted him default bail.
