BJP nears 200 in Bengal, Vijay’s TVK surges in Tamil Nadu, UDF leads in Kerala

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has begun announcing winners across key states, including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry, as counting continues. Early results and trends indicate major political shifts, with the BJP dominating in Bengal, Vijay’s TVK making strong gains in Tamil Nadu, and the Congress-led UDF surging ahead in Kerala.

So far, the ECI has declared several winners across states, including 36 BJP candidates, 53 Congress candidates, and 10 candidates from Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

BJP Eyes Big Win in West Bengal

In West Bengal, the BJP is leading in over 200 seats, moving closer to the majority mark and signaling a potential historic victory. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is currently leading from Bhabanipur by over 5,000 votes.

In Nandigram, BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari is locked in a close contest with TMC’s Pabitra Kar, leading by a narrow margin of around 1,500 votes after 15 rounds of counting.

Vijay’s TVK Shakes Up Tamil Nadu Politics

Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s TVK has emerged as a major force in Tamil Nadu, crossing the majority mark of 118 seats in trends. The party has already secured key wins, including Thanjavur and Anna Nagar.

TVK candidate VS Babu is leading against Chief Minister MK Stalin in Kolathur, while Vijay himself is ahead in both Perambur and Tiruchirappalli (East). The developments suggest a significant setback for the ruling DMK.

Congress-Led UDF Heads for Comeback in Kerala
