THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Daltonganj, May 17: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for online applications seeking scanned copies of evaluated answer books, verification of marks and re-evaluation for the Senior Secondary Examination 2025-26.

According to the notification, the process will begin on May 19 and continue till May 29.

Scanned copies of answer books from May 19

Principal of GN Convent School, Garhwa, Chandra Bhushan Sinha, told The Jharkhand Story Network, “CBSE has fixed a fee of Rs 700 per subject for obtaining a scanned copy of the answer book for candidates desirous of checking their marking.”

The application window for scanned copies will remain open from May 19 to May 22. The scanned copies will be sent to the concerned candidates through WhatsApp, the principal said.

Verification and re-evaluation dates

CBSE has fixed May 26 to May 29 for applications related to verification of marks and re-evaluation.

The fee for verification is Rs 500, while re-evaluation will cost Rs 100 per question.

Bhushan said candidates applying for any of these processes will have to accept the decision of CBSE as “final and binding”.

Smaller schools also produce high scorers: Principal

Speaking on the publicity surrounding CBSE results, Bhushan said, “CBSE results are widely publicised where big and famous schools advertise their high scorers in a way products are commercialised or marketed, little realising that smaller schools and their children are equally capable of scoring high marks.”

He cited the example of Palak Agrawal, a student of GN Convent School, Garhwa, who scored 91 percent in the CBSE Senior Secondary Examination.

“However, in this rush of publicity, students from small places like Garhwa are often overshadowed by scorers from high-priced schools in big cities,” the principal lamented.

Painting subject ignored despite high scores

Bhushan also pointed out that students scoring exceptionally high marks in subjects like painting rarely receive recognition.

“CBSE also has painting as a subject and students have secured as high as 99 percent marks in it. No one talks about painting. It is English and science subjects that get all the attention,” he quipped.

Hard work key to success in smaller towns

When asked about students from smaller towns performing well in national-level examinations such as CBSE and ISCE, Bhushan said determination and continuous hard work play the biggest role.

“It is hard and continuous labour that brings success. Students from smaller places like Garhwa are far more determined to struggle and work hard. We had 57 students in the Senior Secondary Examination and all performed very well,” he said.
