JAMSHEDPUR, May 30: A major accident was narrowly averted in Mango’s Chepapul area of Jamshedpur on Saturday morning when a speeding car lost control and crashed into a marriage hall located along the roadside.
The impact damaged a portion of the hall’s boundary wall and left the vehicle badly damaged. Fortunately, no one was present near the affected section of the premises at the time of the accident, preventing any casualties.
Car Veers Off Road, Rams Into Marriage Hall
According to eyewitnesses, the car was travelling from Pardih towards Mango at high speed when the driver reportedly lost control near the Chepapul area.
The vehicle veered off the road and rammed directly into the boundary wall of a nearby marriage hall. The force of the collision damaged a section of the wall, underlining the severity of the crash.

Locals Rush to Spot
The accident drew the attention of residents, who rushed to the scene soon after hearing the loud impact.
The incident triggered a brief panic in the area before residents informed the police. A police team reached the spot shortly thereafter to assess the situation and begin preliminary inquiries.
Police Seize Vehicle, Probe Underway
Police have seized the damaged car and taken it to the police station for further examination.
Preliminary investigations indicate that over-speeding and loss of control may have caused the accident. Officials said a detailed investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
Residents Seek Stronger Road Safety Measures
The incident has renewed concerns over reckless driving on busy roads in Jamshedpur.
Residents demanded stricter enforcement of speed limits and the installation of traffic-calming measures in the Chepapul area to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“This time, we were fortunate that no one was standing near the marriage hall. Had the accident occurred during a function or at a busy hour, the consequences could have been far more serious,” a resident said.
The accident has once again highlighted the dangers posed by speeding vehicles on urban roads and the need for stronger road-safety enforcement in the steel city.
