Jamshedpur, June 20: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi, has issued a weather alert for Jharkhand, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across the state till June 25. The upcoming spell of rain is expected to bring relief from the prevailing heat, even as authorities advise residents to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions.
Thunderstorm and Gusty Wind Alert Across Jharkhand
According to the latest bulletin issued by IMD Ranchi, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph are likely at isolated places across Jharkhand from June 20 to June 25.
On June 20, stronger winds of up to 60 kmph may affect parts of eastern Jharkhand and adjoining central districts. The weather office has urged people to stay alert during thunderstorm activity and avoid open areas during lightning events.
Hot and Humid Conditions in North-Western Districts
While most parts of the state are expected to witness rain and thundershowers, IMD has also warned of hot and humid weather at isolated locations in north-western districts, including Garhwa, Palamu and Chatra.
Ranchi Weather Forecast for the Next Five Days
For Ranchi and nearby areas, the forecast indicates generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers over the next five days.
Maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 31°C and 33°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to range from 22°C to 24°C.
