NTPC Mining Limited, CMPDI Sign Three-Year MoU to Boost Mining Technology and Consultancy Collaboration

The partnership will focus on coal and mineral project development, advanced mining technologies, coal gasification, and technical consultancy through project-specific work orders.

Ranchi, July 1: NTPC Mining Limited (NML) and Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDI) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen technical collaboration and consultancy support across coal and mineral project development and operations.

The MoU was signed on June 30, 2026, at CMPDI headquarters in Ranchi. The agreement establishes a long-term framework for collaboration, with project-specific work orders to be issued for individual assignments.

Collaboration Across the Mining Value Chain

The partnership covers the entire mining value chain, including exploration, mine operations, project management, survey and GIS, environmental management, mine closure planning, coal beneficiation, laboratory testing, and capacity building.

The MoU also provides for the adoption of advanced mining technologies and consultancy support for surface and underground coal gasification, including feasibility studies, pilot projects, and statutory clearances.

Focus on Sustainable Mining

According to the companies, the collaboration is aimed at strengthening NTPC Mining Limited’s technical capabilities while supporting the sustainable and self-reliant development of its coal and mineral assets.

Senior Officials Present at the Signing Ceremony

The signing ceremony was attended by Shri Subrat Kumar Dash, Chief Executive Officer, NTPC Mining Limited; Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, CMPDI; Directors of CMPDI; and senior officials from both organizations. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to long-term cooperation and knowledge exchange through the partnership.
